Akkord, one of the leaders of the construction sector of Azerbaijan, was established in 2005.

Ideas of establishing Akkord Corporation were promoted by Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev’s decrees “About measures for accelerating social-economic development of the Republic of Azerbaijan” (dated November 24, 2004) and “About approval of the state program of social-economic development of the Azerbaijan Republic regions for 2004-2008” (dated February 11, 2004). Having signed these Decrees, the head of the state provided new opportunities for people capable of running business and laid a firm foundation for a new stage of development of the national entrepreneurship

Akkord is employing over 5,000 people for daily work in all countries where it operates: 
Azerbaijan – 4,197 people; 
Georgia, Ukraine and other countries – 1,277  people.
