Position Description

The Program Manager is responsible for all aspects of the assigned utility program including, but not limited to marketing, utility interaction, end-use customer interaction, budgeting and project time line.  The Program Manager will develop long and short-term implementation plans; actively lead program implementation activities; develop trusted relationships with clients, industry, stakeholders, and program contacts; and respond to client requests.  He or she is required to maneuver quickly between big-picture design and implementation and coordination details.

This position requires excellent planning, organization, and people-management skills.  This person will have the ability to readily and effectively redirect the team or project approach in response to new obstacles or hurdles. In addition to being the primary interface to the utility customer this person will also have primary responsibility to manage the entire customer enrollment process and effectively create the desired end-use customer backlog for the Deployment Team.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Program Manager will manage all day to day activities associated with their assigned utility program serving as the single point of responsibility for program delivery, staffing, end use customer acquisition activity, budgets, timelines and customer satisfaction.

• Manage large program design projects, including responsibility for developing work plans to meet goals and timelines
• Lead team in start-up efforts for new programs
• Continuously assess project progress to goal and developing creative solutions to new issues/information
• Manage and mentor their team; set and review performance standards and objectives for direct reports and subcontractors
• Work closely and effectively with the marketing group to create collateral and presentations
• Develop partnerships with other industry affiliates
• Evaluate, edit, and negotiate contracts to ensure compliance and timeliness
• Represent the company to clients and industry associations, including delivering presentations about the company’s services and opportunities
• Prioritize and manage shared resources between projects 

Desired Experience / Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, CEM, PMP a plus
• 5-plus years of experience in sales/account management, project management and/or consulting; energy or utility experience is highly desired
• Must have direct supervisory experience with talent to inspire and motivate others to accomplish their goals
• Success in developing and implementing project scopes, budgets and plans
• Successful background in developing influential strategic partnerships
• Proven track record of developing and retaining client relationships
• Ability to comprehend, communicate, and apply technical concepts to achieve real world business benefits
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; written and verbal
• Advanced skills in MS Office; CRM software experience a plus

Travel RequirementsPosition will be located in or near the assigned utility service territory with minimal travel requirements
