Computer Facilitator (National Staff Only)

Who are we?

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a humanitarian, non-governmental and non-profit organization, founded in 1956, that works in more than 35 countries around the world. DRC has been operating in Turkey since early 2013, working with by and large with non-camp Syrian refugees and affected host communities. DRC is committed to basic humanitarian principles; including impartiality and neutrality, and offers the highest standards of accountability to the people it serves. The overall objective for DRC in Turkey is the protection and promotion of durable solutions to displacement affected populations on the basis of humanitarian principles and human rights with more immediate objectives focusing both on the immediate subsistence needs, protection and self-reliance support as well as a more long term focus on capacity building. In Turkey, DRC works partially through partners, also providing intensive capacity building support, while also conducting direct implementation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• To Prepare and Instruct full computer course/s in one of the following subjects (PC software Maintenance, Ms.office, Photoshop, Accounting Software, Video Effects)
• To coordinate with the Livelihood team by organizing the courses and providing documents required
• Prepare and administer a pre-test to evaluate the level of participants
• Administer a post-test at the end of the course, to measure progress
• To provide signed attendance sheets, evaluations, syllabus, pictures, and a short narrative report, following the completion of each session.

About you

To be successful in this role, you must have the following qualifications:

You should have a certificate in Computer Science/or Information Technology/Computer teacher or any relevant.

You should have at least 2 years of work experience in the relevant field and proven ability to organize, mentor/train, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. You should have proven ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.

You should be able to work in a multicultural context. You should have experience in language teaching to foreigner, fluency in Arabic and good skills in Turkish (written and spoken), good ability to communicate with the trainees using Arabic and/or Kurdish language.

What we offer:

DRC Turkey offers a Part Time employment contract of 4 months with the possibility of extension (depending on funding). The position will be based in Şanliurfa with regular travel to other DRC Turkey offices in the country as directed. We offer a fair compensation package depending on your qualification and experiences. DRC Turkey is income tax exempted.
