Finance Director

The company was able to extend its operations extensively through decades of history via its innovative approach to a very challenging market.

Today the group is active with subsidiaries in more than 30 countries and serving customers around the world in more than 120 countries. The Turkey operation of the company was established years ago and has been growing rapidly over years.

The Position:

The position is “Finance & Commercial Director” based in Istanbul, Turkey Headquarters.

The Finance & Commercial Director holds a very challenging and responsible appointment and coordinates with other directors, group managers as well as 3^rd parties.

The Finance & Commercial Director is a member of local management team, acting as subsidiary’s top executive, playing a strategic role in the company’s strategic direction, development and future growth.

The Finance & Commercial Director is expected to manage all finance activities of the legal entity/country to ensure quality financial services are provided to site management and local business partners in compliance with legal and statutory regulations.

The Finance & Commercial Director is expected to retain, recruit and train his/her team in order to ensure combination and team satisfaction while delivering targets.

The Finance & Commercial Director manages Finance, Accounting and Operations departments directly and is expected to act as the one single point of contact for Finance related strategy of the company at his/her region. (S)he is responsible of management of all finance activities (accounting, budgeting, financial planning and analysis, credit & collection, treasury) activities of the legal entity/country according to group and legal guideline to provide desired quality of financial services.

(S)he is responsible of preparation of regular financial data and forecasts to ensure timely and accurate reporting in accordance with Group guidelines and local requirements.

The Finance & Commercial Director is expected to manage all legal and tax matters, audit and internal controls and to ensure that compliance criteria are met according to group strategy. The Finance & Commercial Director acts as a business partner with BU management, Regional Controllers and local management team in order to enable the company to take necessary actions and decisions.

Additionally (S)he should support headquarters’ management team pro-actively in implementing the business strategy while supporting them to achieve expected objectives.

-          University degree from reputable universities is a must, preferably in finance, business administration or related disciplines, master degree is a plus

-          Around 5-10 years of experience in Finance, Accounting and controlling experience at preferably in commercial B2B industrial organizations or at least commercial B2B organizations. 

-          Minimum 3 years of management experience in Finance Management preferably in German based organizations or at least in International organizations.

-          Preferably around 3 years of work experience in tax and/or financial audit consulting companies with a strong focus on controlling and finance management. 

-          Proven experience in strategic commercial finance management, preferably acted as a finance business partner for the management during his/her career.

-          Good knowledge of intercompany and international trading operations, proven experience in import and export.  

-          Perfect understanding of financial instruments such as P/L, Balance Sheet etc.

-          Good experience in Internal Controlling, Credit Limits, Bank Operations

-          Strong experience in Sales Accounting (AP/AR operations)

-          Perfect knowledge of reporting standards, both in IFRS and Turkish GAAP; German GAAP (HBII) knowledge is a plus

-          Perfect understanding of Multinational International Industrial Company standards

-          Ability to act analytically, result and people-oriented with hands-on management approach

-          Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills

-          Ability to act customer oriented with an entrepreneur style with a committed approach.

-          Excellent organization skills with a committed approach on processes and deadlines.

-          Fluent in Turkish, English languages is a must, German knowledge is a plus
