Senior Software Architect

We are looking for a full-time Senior Software Architect who will participate in planning, design, development, testing and implementation of software projects - products and services.

The primary responsibility of the Senior Software Architect will be:

• Design and lead development of software utilising service-oriented (RESTFul) architectures and enterprise integration patterns with a hands-on approach

• Solve complex problems with innovative solutions

• Contribute to software specifications

• Research software tools and technologies; recommend and champion usage

• Perform peer reviews and contribute to overall development quality

Job Description

• Analyze business issues and technical problems, apply critical thinking, and provide creative, architecturally sound, extensible solutions

• Contribute to the architecture of products and customer solutions to ensure the architecture employs maintainable, usable and flexible frameworks

• Design and implement scalability, resiliency, performance and security aspects of products and solutions using leading design practices

• Develop high quality, reusable software components, common services, templates and tools that form a framework which can be leveraged across the development team to accelerate the delivery of ASP one’s products and solutions

• Evaluate commercial or open-source software components and technologies to support the range of capabilities needed for products and solutions

• Identify and implement best practices for the architecture and software design that can be adopted by the development.

• Communicate with clients and manage client relationships and team facilitation on a technical level

• Provide leadership, guidance and mentoring to development team

• Discuss and communicate technology ideas and issues with peers and management

• Actively engage with the members of the development team to provide assistance for resolving challenging design and coding issues

• Collaborate with other architects and technical leaders

• Advocate and help to establish agile best practices

• Implement and support Test-driven Development and Continuous Integration

• Advise management on technical opportunities, risks and design trade-offs.

Desired Skills and ExperienceKnowledge and SkillsMust haves:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Mathematics or related engineering field

• At least 5 years of commercial software development experience of designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining components of large scale applications

• At least 5 years of relevant work experience including server side programming and object-oriented concepts

• At least 3 years of experience on Python/Ruby environment

• At least 3 years of experience as a software architect

• Experience in developing service oriented architectures and an understanding of design for scalability, performance and reliability on Windows and Linux/Unix server platforms

• Experience with high-scale, distributed web service development(hands-on experience with RESTful web services)

• Familiarity with distributed systems, asynchronous messaging, and network protocols

• Familiarity with data serialization formats like XML, JSON and protocol buffers

• Experience with Version Control systems such as Git and SVN

• Solid understanding of database design and data modeling

• Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills

• Excellent written and oral communication skills on English

Good to haves:

• Experience with additional programming languages such as Scala, Go

• Working C, C++ knowledge on both Linux/Unix and Win32/64(including tools like make, CDT and libraries like MFC, QT, boost, STL)

• Experience with the Atlassian Software Development and Collaboration Tools (Jira, Confluence)

Experience in:

• Enterprise Integration Patterns

• Agile methodologies

• Configuration management and build/release planning & management (ANT/Maven/SBT/Gradle/Jenkins)

• Distributed Caching

Nice to haves:

    PhD or Master’s degree

    Prior experience in a growth company

    Involvement and contribution to Open Source projects
