AgroFresh Technical Manager (m/f)
to be based in Istanbul, Turkey
AgroFresh is a business division at Dow Agrosciences, marketing post-harvest products based on its proprietary 1-MCP (1- methylcyclopropene) technology under the main brandname SmartFresh™.
Primary function of Agrofresh Technical Manager is to provide technical back-up to the sales organization, liaising between Research and Development department and Sales function for the transfer of the technical information into commercial competitive advantages. Technical Manager is expected to follow up on pre commercial activities and coordinate and provide training and support to local service providers and the AgroFresh sales/marketing organization to develop new markets and applications for the SmartFresh™ technique in close cooperation with the R&D department.
Agrofresh Technical Manager will report directly to R&D Director EMEA, having functional relationship with Commercial Manager for the Region and the other Technical Managers.
Key roles & Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to serve every application in every growing area (AgroFresh agents, outsourced services, end-users)
- Provide Technical support to end-users in order to speed up pre-commercial and commercial activities.
- Help to analyze and recommend on the Technical-commercial structure (AgroFresh account managers, outsourced services) needed to speed business growth
- Establish contacts with key influencers (research centres, crop advisers, service providers)
- Work on local varieties – disorders and storage practices to optimize SmartFresh use and provide technical advice for the preparation of commercial brochures
- Review existing product/market concepts and identify opportunities for product improvement
- Develop new application concepts which meet the innovative requirements of existing and potential customers
- Involve in the technical launch on new crops under registration
Aranan Nitelikler
Required Qualifications and Abilities:
- Bachelors or Masters Degree, preferably in agronomy, with at least 5 years of experience in a technical function in the area of fruits and/or vegetables
- 5 year experience in the field of post harvest treatments and preferably in apple growing
- Extensive technical knowledge relative to post harvest treatments on fruit
- Experience in consulting agency, research institute, research oriented company, industrial company in post harvest or companies in the value chain of fruits
- Work experience in an international environment
- Strong fluency in both written and spoken Turkish and English in a business environment is a requirement, with excellent presentation skills
- Analytical, creative, flexible, self-confident, team player, enthusiastic and customer oriented
- Strong communication skills
- Focused on result and customer satisfaction
- Ability to manage and develop a technical product
- Team spirit to interface with the rest of the team
- Creativity to identify new opportunities. Analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to deal with different countries of very different cultures
- Pro-active attitude and comfortable working in an international and dynamic organization
- Ready to travel frequently
