Support to Life (STL) is a humanitarian aid agency founded with the principal objective of working with communities to help them meet their basic needs and rights.
STL has been working on child labour in seasonal temporary agricultural work since 2012 through its field activities in the Black Sea region and its campaign ‘Bu İş Çocuk Oyuncağı Değil!. STL is looking for a Project Officer to take part in its projects on eliminating child labour.
A. Project Management Supporting
- Assisting the Project Manager in the development project strategy documents, and respective work plans;
- Following time schedules and work plans of the project activities to be implemented;
- Assisting the logistical, administrative and financial work for the planning and implementation of project components;
- Ensuring the quality of project components undertaken by local contacts
- Helping in drafting the progress, narrative and financial reports based on agreed formats and templates;
- Attending relevant meetings with the stakeholders and take detailed notes for preparing comprehensive minutes;
- Maintaining daily communication with stakeholders
- Supervising all junior project staff and assistants to ensure the proper execution of project components
- Conducting any other professional task requested by Project Manager
B. Field Activities
- Visiting and assessing the fields and orchards
- Scheduling and organising the trainers
- Organising the trainings in the fields and orchards
- Corresponding with local authorities for the permits both for trainings and activities in the temporary residence areas
- Supervising the logistical preparations of the field activities
C. Supporting Project Development
- Discussing with and assisting the Project Manager in the development of position papers, project strategy documents, and respective work plans
- Carrying out needs assessments in the field using participatory tools for the designing of new project proposals
- Collecting the necessary primary and secondary data for the preparation of reports and new project proposals
- Assisting in the identification of new contacts and stakeholders depending on new project designs
- Drafting parts of project proposals for new projects
Aranan Nitelikler
Minimum requirements:
- University education and training in a relevant field;
- Minimum 2 years successful experience with project management and event organizations;
- Good knowledge of (written and spoken) English and Turkish;
- Sound knowledge of and skills in project planning, project implementation and evaluation;
- Excellent analytical, reporting/communication/note taking and interpersonal skills.
The following further qualifications are an asset:
- Demonstrated understanding of and experience with policies, protocols, and procedures of international NGOs and donor agencies;
- Good understanding of the key principles of accountability, impartiality, neutrality, independence, cooperation, and intercultural understanding;
- Excellent analytical/problem-solving skills and detail orientation;
- Strong commitment to teamwork;
- Effective communication, motivating leadership and interpersonal and networking skills.
