Commercial Director

We are looking for a Commercial Director who will drive the business strategy of the hotel including overall marketing and sales strategy.  In its capacity, Commercial Director will be responsible for the overall direction of all marketing related activities, including distribution, digital, and social.

The Commercial Director is accountable to develop, implement, maximize, monitor and evaluate the hotel’s market and business strategies and activities of Business Development, Catering, Customer Services and Convention Services Sections, so as to achieve and exceed forecasted revenue figures in Rooms and Food & Beverage.  Some of the other main activities of a Commercial Director will be as below:

• To develop positioning statement of the hotel and its various facilities and outlay the over-arching strategy of the hotel in terms of marketing activities, promotional campaigns for the business plan year and then direct and coordinate all such activities and communicate it throughout the hotel.
• To lead business strategy of the hotel working in close coordination with the Revenue Manager and outlining a distribution map to optimize sales potential for the hotel.
• To work with all revenue producing departments and establish market strategy for each sub-unit in terms of a business plan, digital and social strategy and sales action framework.
• To position the hotel uniquely on all online and offline media platforms.
• To measure, interpret, prioritize and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing activities and to re-evaluate programs on on-going bases so as to achieve/exceed the objectives as outlined in the Annual Marketing and Business Plan.

MBA degree

Understands intricacies of business management, business planning

Is strategic-Understands strategy, its various levels, understands longevity/sustainability of business

Understands market positioning, positioning statements and result of writing such statements

Understands various financial concepts – Understands profitability (within segments), optimal business solutions

Experienced in either revenue Management or Marketing,could be from other industries such as car rental, air lines etc.

Has been in leadership role or exhibits excellent traits of leadership.Pursuses change

Has a good knowledge in Hotel Marketing, and is well versed with the latest trends in marketing – Social, Digital, etc.

Understands team management, and is able to lead a sales team
