MASTER BAKER & PASTRY CHEF

Job Brief: 

Are you an artist with sugar, butter and flour and can create items ranging from desserts to pastries and other baked goods which entice the palate and the eye of patrons to our property? Can you be responsible for planning the dessert and sweets menu, creating recipes and managing ingredients inventory and often determine how the the visual and creative teasers of the final presentation on the plate? Are you aware that you will be expected to bake breads and rolls in addition to the dessert offerings, responsible for inventory control and budgeting for ingredients, as well as quality control of the finished product? Are you ready to coordinate efforts with the overall kitchen operations? If you have answered yes to all of our questions above, you might be our Nikki fit for this role.  

Job Requirements:

Ability to bake, which involves understanding how ingredients come together and how flavors taste and blend. Attention to detail whilst creatively formulating appealing desserts and the display of foods. This is referred to as a sense of artistry. Must possess the relevant food handling certificate as required by the local authorities. Familiar with HACCP Guidelines and food safety requirements. Knowledge in confectionary and chocolate molding is advantageous.  Individual has also to be physically fit and able to lift, move and carry items within the prescribed limits. The role reports to the Assistant Director of Culinary Creations and in the absence to the Director of Culinary Creations

• University/College degree in a related discipline (Hotel Management and Tourism Vocational High School’s)
• Fluent in Turkish and English
• Very good computer skills, proficiency in MS Office applications
• 5 star hotel and resort experience, pre-opening and operation knowledge in an international chain hotel
• Professional knowledge of preparation and effective operation of departmental budget
• Senior leadership experience
• Highly responsible and reliable
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
• Turkish Citizenship
• Non-smoker
