Job Description
The Business Development Manager is responsible for leading all elements of Company’s project procurement response and tactics. The Business Development Manager provides the strategy, resources and management needed to develop each proposal response. This position works with all department leaders to develop the information and process required. Responsible for providing pivotal analysis and procurement expertise for all market sector groups to utilize towards the successful pursuit of new business. Overall responsibilities include ensuring brand recognition for Company through the provision of expert, collaborative and detail driven strategy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Main point of contact for all RFPs and RFQs received; key liaison with senior stakeholders
Lead and manage the opportunities process; review RFPs and RFQs to establish an appropriate plan of action
Lead and manage the production and content of response materials
Leads analysis of opportunity versus strategic goals; advise on go/no go process
Leads strategy and analysis of joint venture/ external partnership opportunities
Manage and advise on interview strategy; lead presentation coaching
Ensure information integrity; collaborate with IT and Employee Resource Planning (ERP) implementation groups in development of new opportunities tracking
Represent Company within the Industry; attend pre-proposal conferences for large submissions when needed
Stay current on new trends in team presentation styles, procurement methods and contracts
Lead and manage production and updates of relevant materials
Communicate needs for proposal brand items; project photography, additional narrative to keep materials current
Advise with the creation of operations focused documents; update process and efficiencies as needed
Lead and manage the implementation of project specific presentation content; advise on multi-media strategies
Advise on the content development of the Company website and intranet
Lead project progress tracking; provide project awards/development information for internal and external communication
Advise on corporate strategy and business goals; development of corporate brand image / presentation of Company

Required Skills
Excellent analytical and research skills, both collaboratively and individually
Excellent ability to prioritize and multi-task
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Required Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in English, Marketing, Communications or related field
At least six (6) years of previous experience; must have a high level of team management experience and understanding of proposal preparation
Strong technical writing experience in English
Strong ability to write creatively and to appeal appropriately to each audience with each message
Experience using MS Office 2010, various graphics and presentation programs (Adobe CS5, Acrobat 9 Pro, Prezi)
Solid understanding of A/E/C industry, but able to offer a different perspective
Association of LEED accredited (preferred)
Interest in sustainability and community service
Physical Job Demands
Travelling internationally very often.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is not exposed to hazardous working conditions.
