SAFETY MANAGER

INTERNATIONAL PROJECT MANAGEMENT FIRM IS LOOKING FOR FULL TIME SAFETY MANAGER FOR  DIDIM MILAS, TURKEY

PositionDescription:The Project Safety Manager is for a Project Management company will work with the PM and Construction Manager in ensuring the contractors supervised adhere to company safety health,and environmental policies.This function oversees, leads, directs and enforces safety and works on construction project to identify, eliminate, and control hazardous conditions that may lead to injury and or property damage using job specific safety standards, best management practices, and Injury Free Environment Techniques.

Essential Duties &Responsibilities:

• Oversees and makes decisions related to project safety, health, and environmental policies such as:

o    Make decisions related to stopping contractors when circumstances are related to an immediate danger to life and health on a project.

o    Recommend and implement corrective action based on policies,guidelines and procedures.

o    Communicate  with  project  staff  and contractors in connection with resolving field safety issues.

o    Provide leadership on the project and build working relationships with project staff and each contractor’s Safety Representative to ensure proper compliance.

o    Enforce safe work practices and safe working conditions in accordance with all Local regulations,and owner/contractual requirements.

o    Educate and advise project staff on safety guidelines and policies.

o    Perform daily site inspections with contractors.

o    Review of all HSE related documentation.

o    Coordinate with site team for safety supervision.

o    Reporting to Client penalties towards non compliant contractors.

o    Manage all site related procedures.

o    Manage proper coordination among contractors.  

o    Conduct training andsafetymeetings.

o    Review and make recommendations related to contractor safety programs

o    Conduct  safety  audits,  issue  report  of  violations  and  require  immediate  corrective  action  by contractors.

Takes  measures and  implements the overall  site  safety program as required  and  ensures  contractors compliance with standards and all applicable safety codes and regulations. Responsibilities include:

o    Contribute to the development of the overall project safety program.

o    Create safety reports for the project, analyzing metrics and making recommendations for

improvement over baseline.

o    Evaluate need for training and make recommendations to subcontractors.

Qualifications:   A fouryear degree in Safety and Health or equivalent is preferred with at least three(3)years of safety experience or combination of education/multiple years experience in building construction,with a demonstrated knowledge of safety/environmental principles and techniques.Demonstrated ability to identify known potential exposures and lead implementation of corrective actions.Demonstrated computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office suite programs.Demonstrated management, leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing and train others.
