- To assist the Banquet Operations Manager, the Banquet Service Manager in extending their leadership roles in the Banquet Service department.
- To assume responsibility for inheriting all problems bringing them to completion at high levels of customer satisfaction.
- To set an outstanding example to all junior permanent staff members as a professional member of the key management team and an exceptionally fair, cooperative, patient and responsible leader.
- To employ the best possible and most productive people-management skills in supervising and leading the brigade of young banquet extras – young men with little experience, of crucial importance to the success of the department, but hard to hire and harder still to retain in the competitive hotel marketplace.
- To extend the philosophy of the Banquet Service Department of helpful communication and cooperation with all other hotel departments whose role in great measure determines the success or failure of many aspects of every planned function.
- To assume complete responsibility and to perform successfully the areas of department management as training the banquet extras and scheduling of extra staff members.
- To follow up all banquet extra employees while they are on duty, identify their training needs.
- To conduct refreshment skills training.

- To work with the F&B training manager in close contact.
- To prepare skills training manuals, materials and standards.
- To train new banquet extra employees

- To handle administrative work, which is related to his assignment.

- To supervise functions as assigned by the Banquet Service Manager from the point of organizer-arrival to organizer-departure ensuring that outstanding Swissôtel service standards are maintained.
- To plan and conduct the service briefing with all assigned team members at least thirty minutes prior to the start of each event.
- To monitor and control all equipment and furnishing in all banquet venues and in the heart-of-house areas ensuring that it is maintained in good repair.
- To ensure the cleanliness and order of all venues at the conclusion of all events.
- To prepare and forward all maintenance requests for necessary repairs to the Engineering or Housekeeping Departments at all times.
- To assist the Banquet Service Manager and Assistant Banquet Service Managers in controlling payroll expenses of both permanent and extra team members.
- To attend any training sessions, which may take place in the hotel, regarding staffing issues and labour law
- To play an active role in all regular meetings with the service staff to maintain communication and a cooperative and positive work environment.
- To attend all departmental and inter-departmental meetings as required.
- To perform all other duties as assigned by the Banquet Operations Manager, the Banquet Service Manager and the Assistant Banquet Service Managers.
