We are seeking a "Geology Superintendent" to work at our Gold Mine located in West Africa.
The Geology Superintendent will manage and maintain geological and geotechnical work in the mine and will oversee the grade control function when needed. There will also be a direct interface with the exploration teams working on near-mine targets. This person will work with the senior management, mining, geology professionals and will oversee a small team on the operating open pit gold mine.

Experience:
- Have experience in open pit gold mining geology, grade control and geotechnical mapping for a period of at least 5 years
- Good hands-on experience in geology modelling and effective use of mining software
- Have a BSc Geology degree or higher
- Have a strong understanding of GIS software and ability to pick up on site package quickly (Micromine/ Datamine)
- Have an ability to use Microsoft Office to a high level
- Have excellent English written and oral communication skills
- Clean valid drivers' license (essential)
- Be a performance orientated, collaborative and team player able to react pro-actively to any deviations from planned activities
- Have a high level of organisation skill
- Must have a thorough methodical approach to routine tasks and problem solving
- Must be willing to work with and assimilate experience from colleagues from a variety of skills and national backgrounds
- Must have strong team ethic and communication abilities
- Ability to encourage/ recognize team performance
- Must be self-motivated, be persistent with data problems and be able to find best solution
- Ability to work independently
- Must be highly detail-oriented
- Ability to supervise a medium sized team
