Accommodation Decisions & Management: contract management of Embassy properties, UK based staff arrival and departures procedures, management of the Embassy stores, calculations for accommodation in relation to the FCO’s Estates Department in London for budget forecasting, Pyramid database upkeep;

Leading on Estates projects in Ankara liasing with FCO Services, Technical Works Officers and Estates and Security Directorate in London;

Act as a first point of contact for all Ankara Estate related queries, providing advice and escalating issues to the Head of Corporate Services where necessary;

Management and control of the Network’s rental budget of over £2.2 million: forecasting and managing all estates accounts, controlling spend, adjusting forecasts when necessary in consultation with the Istanbul Estates Officer and the Budget Manager;
-
Delivery & Management of Procurement: Purchasing for embassy and accommodation matters, supply chain management all purchase to pay responsibilities and supplier maintenance;

Line management of the Embassy support team of 3, the Residence Manager and the Head of Technical Works Group;

Deputising for the Residence Manager in her absence;
-
Organisation of major events including the Queen’s Birthday Party (national day celebrations);

Deputising for the Deputy Head of Corporate Services in their absence;

Overseeing delivery of other admin support duties e.g. applications to the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affair for ID cards;

Any other duties as assigned.

- This is a full-time permanent contract, for 5 working days (36.25 hours net) per week.
- The monthly salary for this position is 2,602.41 USD gross B3 level. Please note that staff members are responsible for paying any income tax required by local law.
- All applicants should have the right to live and work in Turkey. The British Embassy in Ankara does not sponsor for work permits.
- The successful candidate will be subject to professional background check, security clearance and a probation period of 2 months.

Fluency in English and Turkish (both oral and written);

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture or any other relevant field;

At least 5 years of experience in dealing with Estates issues in an international environment;

Advanced user of Microsoft Office Applications;

Knowledge of the FCO’s Accommodation database system Pyramid would be an advantage;

Previous knowledge and experience of Health and Safety systems both locally and with the FCO.
