Up Translations is an online translation company based in New York, USA, and founded in 2019. We serve our clients as their language service provider (LSP) and meet their needs and requirements with the utmost care. We translate any and all kinds of documents from and to all languages around the world. We are certified by the American Translators Association (ATA) and registered in Delaware, USA.

This is a full-time, remote work where you can work from your home with the possibility of leading the sales department in the future.

We are looking for a salesperson who is comfortable with working remotely and mostly over the phone. The foundational tasks are (but not limited to) to call potential clients, to sell translation services, to give them extensive information about our services, to give them free samples if necessary, special discounts, or to upsell the services, to answer client e-mails, to answer client calls, etc.

Important: This is not a telemarketing position.

You will be expected to search the potential client online and then making the calls with the knowledge to close the deal easily. You will be given a list of potential clients, in time and with experience, you will be able to search for good potential clients on your own. You need to be very comfortable with the phone. You need to be able to write great emails with a respective and formal language. You need to be able to act on your own with responsibility.

* Internet and phone bill coverage. You will be paid $25.00 USD per month for your bills in addition to your monthly payments.

* No unnecessary or mindless work. If the company asks you to complete a task and if you think it is inefficient or plainly stupid, just let us know, we obviously want to change that immediately. We are very progressive on those issues.

* 10 days of paid vacation time. (Will be applied after 9 months of employment and will be replenished per annum) (Paid vacation time do not flow over to the following year)

* 10 days of paid federal holidays. (In addition to personal vacation time) (Cannot be replaced with other dates) a sample for 2021 is listed below:

1. January 18 – Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
2. February 15 – President’s Day
3. May 31 – Memorial Day
4. July 5 – Independence Day (observed)
5. September 6 – Labor Day
6. October 11 – Columbus Day
7. November 11 – Veterans Day
8. November 25 – Thanksgiving Day
9. December 24 – Christmas Day (observed)
10. December 31 – New Year’s Day (observed)

* 1 day per month as a sick day regardless of your gender. Psychological problems are counted as sick days as well. So, if you feel depressed and need some personal time, you can schedule a sick day for yourself. Sick days do not flow over to the next month and can be used only for medical reasons. Periods for female employees and psychological problems for all employees are included in that definition.

* No try-out or training time without pay. The moment we signed you, your paid training will start and you will be compensated fully for that time.

* Openness to ideas. All of your ideas will be evaluated in detail and will be valued. Your ideas and things you bring to the table will grant you bonuses.

* The compensation will be $500.00 USD per month to be paid via PayPal or Payoneer. (if you choose, this amount can be paid on the 1st and 15th of the month as two $250.00 USD installments) (This is a remote work and our company is based in the United States, we are not responsible for your country's legal tax codes. It is the employee's responsibility to report any and all taxes)

* Should certain criteria are met in 6 months in sales, a $250.00 USD raise will be granted. (the total will be $750.00 USD per month). These criteria will be discussed in the video interview.

What we do and do not expect from you:

* Basically, your time and effort on company time as this is a remote position without a physically present superior. You ethically and naturally need to be able to motivate yourself to work. Everyone has bad days, we understand that however you are expected to bring in value to the company while you are on company time. The comforts of your home should be there to elevate your performance and not to derail you into an inefficient workflow.

* We never expect our employees to value us as a family member. It is simply not realistic. To underline this, we put plenty of measures in vacation times and overtime policies so that you can spend quality time with yourself or with your loved ones. We know that we ask you to put your intelligence and a great deal of your time into our company but we also know that your life does not only consist of company time. As long as you are happy in your personal life, we believe that you can bring your best game to the company. 

* We do not expect you to work overtime. This position requires no overtime work. However, in the extreme instances where you absolutely need to work overtime, you will be compensated with an hourly pay or paid vacation time. We do not like overtime at all.

* We think that everything starts with curiosity, therefore, we expect you to be curious. We expect you to ask about anything and everything. Questions will improve us all.

* We do not expect you to be a team player or a leader. If you are a team player, you may play in the team with your teammates; if you are a leader, you may lead the team. All in all, if you meet the requirements below, there will always be a place for you.

Some of the requirements are listed below:

* Intelligence, drive, integrity, reliability, and maybe most importantly curiosity.

* Ability to do basic math and use a calculator for discounts, profit margins, etc.

* Ability to surf the internet efficiently and use web tools whenever necessary.

* High school degree. (related college degree is preferred)

* At least c1 English proficiency. (c2 is preferred) (no degree required, job interviews will be conducted over the phone in English, therefore, your proficiency will be observed)

* A reliable and relatively new computer with at least an Intel i5 processor and 8gb of ram since we run all of our applications on our computers.

* At least 10 Mbps of reliable internet connection. A smartphone that has a hotspot capability to be used as an emergency connection if the main connection fails.

* A reliable webcam. Virtual meetings are very very rare, however, you are expected to present in one when needed.

* Good understanding of office software such as MS Word, MS Excel, Acrobat Reader, etc.

* Relevant sales experience of at least 1 year.

* To be able to work Monday through Friday. The off days will be Saturday and Sunday.

* To be able to work 8-hour shifts between 8 am eastern standard time (est/new york time) and 5 pm est with a 1-hour lunch/dinner break. (it is between 15:00 and 23:59 in turkey time)

* To be able to accept payments through PayPal or Payoneer.
