Procurement Engineer

We are seeking a highly-skilled, organized procurement engineer to join our growing company in construction. In this position, you will manage the company’s supply of products, materials and/or services. In order to strategize with team members to cut procurement expenses, strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills are a must.

In this role, you are responsible for finding vendors for both our day-to-day supplies and the overall materials we need to keep our operations running. You submit a purchase order to the vendor and handle all invoicing procedures, and you may also be responsible for expediting orders when we are short on supplies. You need strong negotiation skills to help us get the best price. You also need vendor management and supply chain skills to help maintain these relationships. Our ideal applicant has a bachelor’s degree in a business field and several years of procurement or purchasing experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Purchase all supplies and materials for our operations
• Submit purchase orders and forward invoices to our accounts payable department
• Negotiate with vendors and maintain relationships to ensure a reasonable price
• Help establish and maintain a purchasing budget
• Ensure our materials are in compliance with our QA standards
• Purchase supply of products/materials
• Determine the lowest cost for products/materials
• Track and record orders
• Receive orders and document arrivals
• Manage supply base
• Analyze market and delivery systems
• Source and interview vendors; negotiate contracts and costs
• Analyze supply base
• Prepare requisitions and purchase orders
• Monitor order expenses
• Communicate performances and costs to management
• Recommend new processes or systems for improvement; implement new ideas and strategies
• Organize and schedule procurements in a timely manner
• Operate equipment and follow all safety procedures
• Comply to scorecard measurement system to track values
• Communicate with vendors, clients, customers, team members, and managers to align goals

Desired Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering
• Fluency in Turkish and English in both oral and written communications,
• 2-5 years of previous experience in procurement or purchasing
• Experience in industry procedures, costs, and terms
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
• Experienced at compiling and following strict budgets
• Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
• Supply chain management experience
• Familiarity with vendor management and invoicing software
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Computer proficiency
