We are looking to expand the team and searching for a Site Manager. 

Our customer is an international group that has specialized in operations in Africa for several decades. Thanks to years of experience and top-quality services, the company is the point of contact for all construction projects in its area of application.This service can only be maintained by highly trained and trained employees who show initiative and meet the highest quality standards. Of course, the safety of employees and their relatives is the top priority for the traditional company.

Description: 
In this position you’ll use your skills and experience to direct and develop a team that models organziation’s values and produces high-level results against key performance indicators and operational goals. Key accountabilities include safety leadership, operational efficiency and achievement, and financial performance. During a typical day, you will interact with the site team, customers, and the organization’s network of resources to accomplish the business goals for the site.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervising, managing and coordinating construction personnel
  • Planning, directing, organizing and controlling the works conformity with the specifications (scope of work, commissioning and hand-over).
  • Interpreting and explaining plans and contract terms to his staffDefining construction related objectives
  • Responsible to manage subcontracts for construction works and supervises and coordinates activities of subcontractors for such works
  • Determining labor requirements and dispatch workers to construction sites
  • To carry out project planning, design drawing, material requisition, cost control, project supervision and documentation
  • Implementing Quality Management Plan for construction processes under his /her responsibilityBeing responsible for conformity of all construction works with contractual requirements in regards to quality
  • Preparation of Construction Method Statements in collaboration with Technical Office Engineer.
  • Evaluating construction methods and determine cost-effectiveness of plans.
  • To value, implement and enforce the HSE regulations of the company under his / her responsibility.Reviewing of internal and external progress and performance reporting
  • To monitor progress and cost
  • Reviewing of quantity/ cost reconciliation exercises
  • Responsible to prepare site plans, traffic regulation plan according to stakeholders and environment needs.
  • Take reasonable practical measures to eliminate any foreseeable risk to any person who is at the workplace
  • Conducting engineering surveys for the selected roads and other structures including bridges
  • Assessing the work activities for which labor-based construction methods are appropriate and for those sections for which heavy machinery is appropriate; establish a cost estimate for the rehabilitation and construction works for roads & bridges
  • Assisting in the preparation of tender documents and evaluation of tenders and the preparation and finalization of contracts for construction and rehabilitation worksMaking any necessary changes to the design drawings as per the site conditionsMonitoring construction and rehabilitation works, including environmental mitigation and safety plans in accordance with contractual agreements

Aranan Nitelikler

  • A Bachelor or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • .Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in coordination, planning and managing of works in design and 12 years’ experience in execution as a site manager at abroad especially in Africa at international company.
  • Minimum total experience must be 15 years in road and bridge construction.
  • Professional level of knowledge of how to work with materials such as sand, laterite, asphalt, concrete.
  • Having “know-how” knowledge and experience about the road and flyover construction with effective communication and coordination skills addition to computer skills, HSE and security knowledge.
  • Road design knowledge and ability to do it with surveyor inputsEquipment knowledge and capability to lead and supervise minimum 10-15 supervisors, 750 staff with 600Nos equipment’s
  • Proficiency in oral and written English, in usage of Computer programs such Auto-Cad, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) is required.
  • To have a PMP certificate.
  • Develop Bill of Quantities of projects for tender with technical office engineer and submit to Project Manager Approval.
