PURPOSE OF POSITION

Provide leadership and coordination of hotel financial planning, debt financing, and budget management functions.

Ensure hotel accounting procedures conform to FRHI policies and procedures, their effectiveness so that the profitability of the hotel is guaranteed.

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• To oversee the Finance and Accounting department, ensuring that books, records and accounts maintained accurately and fairly reflect the transactions and dispositions of the assets of the company.

• To devise and maintain a system of internal accounting control sufficient to ensure that transactions are executed in accordance with management’s general and specific authorization and in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and country legislations.

• To review and certify any hotel internal / external financial reporting before their distribution and oversee the preparation of the hotel’s yearly operating budget

• To ensure that the hotel hold all required licenses and permits to operate, all insurances as stipulated in HMA

• To review all proposed contracts for pricing and terms, ensuring hotel’s interest comes first and is protected at all times

• To provide assistance to other operational departments in the definition, implementation and follow-up of improved control tools

• To maintain close communication with third parties as owning company, public auditors, local authorities

• Degree in Hospitality Management and / or Accounting / or equivalent qualifications
• Oral and written fluency in English
• Minimum 5-10 years experience in a senior level finance or accounting position and a CPA Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
• Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.
• Working knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis.
• Work requires professionally written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects
• Ability to participate and facilitate group meetings
