Team Leader - Civil Eng/Architect

Politecnica is one of the most notable and independent consulting firms in the architecture & engineering services sector in Italy. Privately held and fully controlled by its Partners, it has a network of almost 200 people (designers, planners, engineers, consultants and technical specialists) distributed in different offices.

Politecnica is looking for a Resident Team Leader (Architect/Civil Engineer) for the Supervision for Construction of Regional Industrial Collaboration in Cotton Fibre Manufacturing (Diyarbakir).

Job Description:

The Team Leader will be available during the whole contract period and be responsible for day-to­day management of the project on site and coordination of the project activities between the Employer, the Works Contractor, the End Recipient of Assistance, and other bodies involved. He/she shall be authorized as the "Representative of the Engineer" and shall provide services on a full time basis in the base of operations. However in the defects notification period (after taking over) and in the period until the issue of the performance certificate, the Team Leader shall provide services in the base of operations on part time bases.

The Team Leader shall ensure development of the additional necessary management procedures as well as necessary QA/QC procedures and that all staffs have been sufficiently trained and possess the necessary know-how in order that all tasks listed for the "Engineer" are carried out professionally. The main functions of the Team Leader will be as follows:

• To manage the project on a day-to-day basis, and to ensure that the project runs on time
• To direct and monitor the progress of the Works Contractor and report periodic progress for End Recipient of Assistance
• To manage the team of experts and resources
• To develop and maintain close links and excellent working relations with all the actors, bodies and Employer involved in the project

Qualifications required:

• Good Command of English + Full computer literacy
• Have an Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or in Architecture or equivalent
• Full Computer Literacy

General Professional Experience required

• Minimum 10 years of professional experience

Specific Professional Experience required

• Preferably 7 years but a minimum of 5 years of working experience (on behalf of the Employer) in the supervision of construction of any kind of building.

• Experience as Supervisor or Contractor of at least one construction project implemented with FIDIC Conditions of Contract.

• Minimum 2 years of working experience as a project manager / team leader in the supervision or construction of research centers, laboratories, industrial and similar types of buildings (i.e. factory, industrial facility, warehouse, logistic center, schools, universities, hospitals, public buildings, residential buildings, shopping malls etc.)

• Engineering experience as a Team Leader in supervision of construction (on behalf of the employer) is an asset.

• Experience in FIDIC claim management will be an asset.
