The company started with a contract awarded for an ATM and Debit Card Management System on mainframe platform. At the time, Banksoft saw the opportunity offered by Microsoft platforms as a robust and low-cost alternative to legacy systems and, in 1996, it became the first Turkish Microsoft Certified Solution Partner in the banking sector solutions. This led to the first ATM & Debit Card Management Software Solution working on NT platforms in Turkey. The first wireless (Mobitex-based) ATM, the first support for Cash Recycling Sytem, the first support for foreign currencies in addition to the local currency were also Banksoft achievements. Currently, 16 financial institutions use the latest version of the solution inside Turkey and abroad.

Banksoft expanded to Credit Cards in 1996, directly on Windows platforms, again a first in the Turkish market. The solution incorporates many extra features such as instalment-based payments, on top of the standard issuing and acquiring functionalities with Visa and MasterCard. The Credit Card Management Software Solution was extended to support EMV transactions. The first bank in Europe, which obtained both Visa and MasterCard certifications for EMV-Chip Card issuing and acquiring, uses Banksoft product portfolio. On top of providing the software, Banksoft provided the project management and full technical support during the certification process. Currently, 8 institutions use the latest version of the solution inside Turkey and abroad.

POS Management and Merchant Management Systems started as a natural extension of the Credit Card solution in 1996, using Microsoft platforms. The cooperation with the EFT/POS terminal manufacturer Ascom Monétel began the same year. Ascom Monétel was acquired by Sagem of France in 2002 and the exclusive distributorship agreement continued for the enlarged product portfolio with the addition of Sagem products. Banksoft software on POS terminals received its Level II certification for EMV transactions in 2002. A POS terminal network solution was also produced by the POS development and hardware group. Currently, 7 institutions use the latest version of the solution inside Turkey and abroad.

Custom projects are an area of speciality for Banksoft. While the financial sector went through a radical change period, a Banksoft customer was split into two and these parts consolidated with two different banks. This very demanding task was completed ahead of schedule with great success and these two banks manage a total of 12 million of debit and credit cards using Banksoft product portfolio. Another custom project is the migration of a proprietary, closed-loop card scheme into the standard international credit card operation of HSBC who purchased the private-label card company. The migration involved the creation of a loyalty and instalment credit application as well. A third achievement in custom projects, was the addition of an advanced EMV smart card-based loyalty and instalment credit application into the standard EMV scheme of a client bank. This project, completed ahead of schedule with great success, included a loyalty sharing feature with other financial institutions participating to the scheme.

Since 1995, with the increasing capabilities of the Microsoft platforms, Banksoft solutions evolved to take advantage of the new functionalities. At the same time, Banksoft increased the number of its customers thanks to the quality of its products together with the best-of-breed customer support. The speed with which Banksoft provided the required functionality and features gained the appreciation of its customers. The solutions were sold not only to financial institutions starting their retail banking operations, but also to customers who replaced their existing packages supplied by multinational software companies. The fact that no customer left Banksoft platforms for a competitor product, shows the success of the solutions and the crucial customer support.
