Assistant Director Of Security & Operational Risk

As we continue to expand the pre-opening team, The Peninsula Istanbul is seeking to hire an Assistant Director of Security and Operational Risk to manage, supervise and critique the day-to-day security operations by ensuring there is a strong focus on the safety and security of guest, employees and Hotel assets.

Key accountabilities

• Under the direction of the Director of Security and Operational Risk, implement policies and procedures in accordance with property/corporate security and loss control requirements to ensure security personnel provide maximum guest, employee, and property safety and security at all times, as stipulated in the Group SOR Framework.
• Collects local intelligence and identifies potential hazards and risks within the region, prioritize their importance and likelihood of occurrence and report to property senior management.Researches and recommends new and updated trends in loss control and prevention.   
• Identifies areas of non-compliance in business operation; recommends corrective action to remedy deficiencies. 
• Manages investigations and reports of all employee and guest incidents and provide accurate documentation.
• Provides oversight and supervision of the contracted security agency in providing security services to effectively meet the security requirements of the property.
• Conducts daily patrols/rounds of The Peninsula Istanbul and its perimeter to ensure that all security staff are on their respective posts and performing their assigned duties and responsibilities.
• Ensures that proper implementation of key control procedures to prevent unauthorized possession, withdrawal and use of hotel keys.

• At least 5 years as security manager or similar role within hotels within a luxury international hotel.
• Excellent knowledge of security industry best practice across relevant security operations (loss prevention, conflict resolution, access control, etc.).
• Excellent knowledge of security and crisis management related law and regulation.
• Experience using relevant technology and equipment (e.g. CCTV) and solid understanding of budgeting and statistical data analysis.
• Ability to communicate with influence with management, employees, visitors, fire/police, disaster management & recovery personnel, etc.Fluent in English language proficiency.
