The British Consulate General Istanbul is part of a world-wide network representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking to hire a full-time permanent Accommodation Assistant for the Corporate Services section.
This position will support our Accommodation Officer. The ideal candidate will be efficient in multi tasking and will have effective team working skills. The successful candidate will be required to take up the position quickly.
Main Responsibilities:
- Responsible for payments of goods, rents, monthly service charges, official utility bills, residential properties and administration on accounts system and managing credit card expenditure;
- Dealing with administration of set up and cancellation of satellite TV, telephone and internet connections for officers;
- Supplier engagement – liaise with suppliers regarding supplier services;
- Arranging school payments;Organisation of the storage of furniture / fittings;
- Responsibility for the implementation of furniture inventory procedures;
- Supporting Accommodation Officer / Managers with any routine or ad-hoc duties;
- Cover for messenger duties in messenger’s absence

Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Good command of English and Turkish written and verbal;
- Efficiency in Microsoft Office applications;
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work under pressure and complete tasks to an agreed standard;
- Attentive to setting performance objectives and meeting deadlines;
- Previous accommodations and inventory management experience would be an advantage;
- Applicant must hold a driving license.

Starting monthly gross salary: (TRY) 2,764.60 TL (16 times)
Terms and Conditions:
This is a full-time permanent contract for 5 working days (36.25 hours net) per week. The start date is 5 April but the successful candidate is expected to start as soon as possible.
The annual salary for this position is 44,233.60 TL gross, A1 level. Please note that staff members are responsible for paying any income tax required by local law.
All applicants should have the right to live and work in Turkey. The British Consulate General does not sponsor for work permits.
The successful candidate will be subject to professional background check, security clearance and a probation period of 2 months.
Staff recruited locally by the British Consulate General in Istanbul are subject to Terms and Conditions of Service according to local Turkish employment law.
