Support to Life (STL) is an independent humanitarian agency working in the field of disaster risk reduction, disaster preparedness, and emergency response in Turkey and the surrounding region. With an emphasis on community participation, STL works at a grassroots level to build local capacity, mitigate the risks and impact of disasters, and support those in need in meeting their basic needs and rights.
In line with its mandate STL currently has the following main activities:
Refugee Support: The goal of STL’s work in the area of refugee support is to help Syrian refugees in the region who are either unable or unwilling to settle in refugee camps meet their basic needs and rights. STL is providing direct support through psychosocial services in its Community Centres, and enables access to services with its Case Management teams.
Child Protection: STL has been working with at-risk children, sensitizing farmers and raising awareness among the public in an effort to contribute to eliminating child labour in Turkey, especially in the context of seasonal migratory agricultural work. As the inflow of Syrian refugees aggravated child labour in Turkey and child work became a prevalent negative coping strategy, STL extended its child protection activities to include refugee families.
Emergency Response: In disaster situations, STL provides relief aid to disaster-struck communities through in-kind and cash-based support for food and non-food items, winterisation aid, as well as improving the conditions of shelter and addressing water, sanitation and hygiene needs.
Strengthening Civil Society and Networking: STL brings together key civil society actors with the aim of creating the local capacity needed for effective disaster management in Turkey. In order to create positive change, STL publishes and disseminates reports, engages in capacity building activities through trainings, working group meetings and exposure visits. STL also pursues active coordination and advocacy campaigns with government and civil society actors.
Hayata Destek is looking for Case/Ipa Programme Officer to work in İstanbul.
Main duties and responsibilites
- Supporting smooth implementation of the project as described in the proposal submitted to donor;
- Assisting the Programme Manager in the development of Activity Progress Report (APR) for planning and reporting of all project activities
- Supporting the field teams in filing and maintaining full project documentation
- Assisting the logistical, administrative and financial work for the planning and implementation of programme components
- Supporting the standardization of programme components and their implementation in each location
- Supporting the Programme Manager in organizing and following all capacity building activities within the scope of the project.
- Organizing the visit and meeting schedules of the HQ CM Programme team
- Ensuring continuous communication between HQ CM Programme team and the STL Field Teams
- Sharing best practices and lessons learnt among the fields
- Helping the trainings and orientations of the new protection staff, as required
- Helping in drafting the progress reports, based on agreed formats and templates
- Assisting the preparation of programme tools such as comprehensive assessments, forms, database
- Collecting the necessary primary and secondary data for the preparation of reports
- Conducting any other professional task requested by Programme Manager
- Assisting Programme Manager in liaison and daily communication with the donors, stakeholders and NGOs
- Accompanying Programme Manager in relevant meetings with the donors, stakeholders and taking notes for preparing comprehensive minutes
Aranan Nitelikler
- University education and training in a relevant field
- Minimum 2-year successful experience in project management and protection work
- Sound knowledge of and skills in needs assessment, project planning, proposal writing, project implementation, monitoring and evaluation
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in politicized and multi-cultural settings with a wide variety of stakeholders, experience in the field is an advantage
- Ability to analyze information, document clearly, evaluate options and to think and plan strategically
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and representation skills
- Ability to present complex information in a succinct and compelling manner, and to use innovative forms of communication
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Turkish
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally

HAYATA DESTEK DERNEĞI / SUPPORT TO LIFE
Hayata Destek Derneği, Türkiye ve çevre bölgelerde afet risklerinin azaltımı, afete hazırlık, acil yardım ve iyileştirme çalışmaları yapan bağımsız bir insani yardım kuruluşudur. Hayata Destek, toplumsal katılımı öncelikli tutarak, yerel kapasiteyi geliştirmek, afet risk ve etkilerini aza indirgemek, toplulukların temel ihtiyaç ve haklarının karşılanmasına destek vermek için toplum-temelli çalışmalar yürütmektedir.
Hayata Destek hedefleri doğrultusunda sürmekte olan stratejik çalışma alanları aşağıdaki gibidir;
• Mülteci Destek Programı: Türkiye’deki mültecilerin sayısı ve zarargörebilirliği arttığı sürece, Hayata Destek, kamplar dışında hayatını sürdüren mültecilere insani yardım ve koruma sağlamaya devam edecektir.
• Çocuk Koruma Programı: Hayata Destek, Suriyeli çocuklar ile mevsimlik gezici tarım göçünden etkilenen çocuklara yönelik koruma hizmetleri ve psikososyal destek çalışmaları yürütmektedir. Çalışan çocuklar ile risk altındaki çocukların eğitime devamlılıklarına katkı sağlayan Hayata Destek, yaşam becerilerinin geliştirilmesine yönelik aktivitelerin yanı sıra farkındalık arttırma çalışmaları ve atölyeler düzenlemektedir.
• Sivil Toplum Afet Platformu: Hayata Destek paydaş kurumlarla birlikte, sivil toplum aktörlerini doğal ve çatışma kaynaklı afetlere ilişkin konularda bilgi paylaşımı, kapasite geliştirme ve savunuculuk için bir araya getirecek bir platform oluşturmuştur.
