Database Operation Senior Specialist

We are seeking a Database Operations Senior Specialist with the will and ambition to work in Database Operation Management Function, reporting Database Operations Manager of Vodafone Turkey.

• In this role, you will be mainly responsible for design, deployment and technical support activities of database related products and services in accordance with company internal procedures and quality standards.
• Database Deployment
• Installing and testing new versions of the databases.
• Writing database backup & monitoring/control scripts.
• To perform all type of database upgrades on production and test systems.
• Controlling database access permissions and privileges.
• To prepare necessary platforms database component and carry out user acceptance tests.
• Database Support & Maintenance
• Monitoring Oracle Exadata to tune ETL and report jobs, maintanence of objects for compresion .
• To automate or assist the automation of relevant deployment activities.Resolution of database problems reported by our customers, hardware and software maintenance issues, which include problem identification, diagnosing.Monitoring performance and managing parameters to provide better.
• Ensuring that storage, archiving, backup and recovery procedures are functioning correctly.
• Proactive monitoring of deployed systems and HW/SW components.
• To prepare/review troubleshooting guides for frequent problems.
• Oracle Goldengate knowledge is a plus

• University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or in a related discipline
• Significant DBA background (Oracle)
• Significant knowledge of RAC,ASM, Grid Infrastructure, Grid Control 12c
• Significant knowledge of Oracle Exadata.
• Demonstrated, in-depth knowledge of database internals and data structure.
• Significant knowledge of SQL/SQL*Plus and strong understanding of PL/SQL and stored procedures/pkgs.
• Significant knowledge of Database Backup and recovery using RMAN and logical backups.
• Good knowledge and hands-on-experience of Unix ( preferably SUN Solaris )
• Good knowledge and hands-on-experience of UNIX shell scripting.
• Know-how and experience of HW/SW and IT concepts.
• Experience in SLA ( Service Level Agreement ) based working
• Experience in QA ( Quality Assurance ) methodology.
