KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Observes continuous operation of automatic machines to ensure productivity and minimal downtime
- Oversees a workforce of 45 + employees in the manufacturing department
- Strives to reduce expenses and increase productivity across all product lines
- Ensures all employees follow industry standard regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
- Sets ambitious production goals and communicate them to key personnel
- Provides motivation, support and guidance to all employees
- Communicates any problems or obstacles to senior management
- Establishes workflow policies that enhance speed and efficiency without compromising product safety or integrity
- Creates schedules for employees to ensure optimum staffing levels
- Performs repetitive tasks required in the creation of optical quality products using some or all of the consumables and tools.
- Identify and communicate technical problems, processes and potential solutions using the established issue tracking software.
- Provide accurate estimates of assigned tasks for inclusion in project planning.
- Create, maintain, and execute test cases across various systems.
- Follows all advancements in the industry and implements innovative product development (R&D) within the production lines.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Committed team player with a positive attitude and the motivation to learn.
- Autonomous, organized, motivated and proactive.
- Attention to detail with a strong professional work ethic.
- Experience with issue tracking systems.
- Familiarity of automated testing approaches and tools.
- Exposure to Lensware and Satisloh services is an asset.
- Proficient in optics and electronics lab environments
- Open to specific training and certification and or continued education.
- Willingness to be cross trained for other job tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- At least 5 years of proven, reliable manufacturing/production history.
- Experience in a fast paced, quality-oriented environment.
- Optical industry knowledge is an asset.
