Job Description
Located in the prestigious Sariyer district of Istanbul, this historic mansion offers remarkable views over the Bosphorus Strait and incorporates architectural features from the site’s former Ottoman-era buildings. This "Pearl of Bosphorus" shines through its commitment to community, sustainability, wellness and design, infused with touches of fun and quirkiness.
Specific
Contributes to the morale and team spirit of the resort by maintaining effective relationships with colleagues.
Performs additional duties as directed by supervisors.These may include duties at any Six Senses Resort and Spa property.
Makes appropriate suggestions and recommendations to management for the general improvement of the resort.
Is fully conversant with all health and safety, fire and emergency procedures.
Maintains a high standard of personal hygiene, dress, uniform, and body language.
Is polite and professional in any situation where the image or reputation of the hotel is represented.
Attends meetings and training as required by managers.
Ensures that all activities are carried out honestly, ethically, and within the parameters of local law.
Interacts with guests actively soliciting feedback.
General
Complete any other duty assigned to them by their manager/supervisor.
Arrive on time in full uniform in accordance with the company grooming guideline.
Maintains a high and visible profile on the day to day operations by being on the floor during peak service hours and checking every outlet throughout the day.
Manage a station in the dining room by providing great wine service and taking advantage of all opportunities to increase beverage sales.
Conduct Wine Seminars for our guests.
Conduct Wine Tastings/Dinners for our guests.
Conduct Wine Training Sessions for Restaurant and Beverage Hosts.
Decant properly older vintages, with the showmanship and standards required by traditional wine
Pair wines with food, recommending those that will complement the different styles of cuisine and the different methods of food preparation.
Organize their mis-en-place before every meal in order to ensure proper service.
Organize and supervise wine sales and service in the outlets.
Strives to meet the target cost of sales for the operation as determined by the resort budgets.
Responsible for the proper accounting and recording of all wine sales.
Stays current with trends in the industry and creates creative wine promotions.
Responsible for the training and education of all those involved in sales and service of wine products. This includes arranging outside consultants and suppliers who provide wine training.
Requisitioning, receiving, storing and inventorying product.
Establishes proper communication with Stores and Financial Controller to assure that all the items on the Wine List and in stores are available.

Required Skills
Position Requirements
Diplomas as Sommeliers and have kept up their knowledge by attending regularly seminars, conferences, courses and other wine industry related events.
Two or more years of sommelier experience
Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is acceptable.
Knowledge and experience in the purchasing and productions process and is equally versed in global distribution.
Excellent knowledge and worked with wine lists that are truly international in scope and content.
English with ability to communicate clearly.
Knowledge as well as abilities in other languages would be beneficial.
