Team Leader

Politecnica is one of the most notable and independent consulting firms in the architecture & engineering services sector in Italy. Privately held and fully controlled by its Partners, it has a network of almost 200 people (designers, planners, engineers, consultants and technical specialists) distributed in different offices.

Politecnica is looking for a Resident Team Leader (Architect/Civil Engineer) for the Supervision of Works of Constructions of Buildings in Turkey.The Team Leader shall have the overall responsibility of the supervision team including the administration and coordination of all activities. He/she shall be authorized as the "Representative of the Engineer" and shall provide services on a full time basis in the base of operations. However in the defects notification period (after taking over) and in the period until the issue of the performance certificate, the Team Leader shall provide services in the base of operations on part time bases.The Team Leader will be available during the hole contract period and be responsible for day-to-day management of the project on site and coordination of the project activities between the Employer, the Contractor, the End Recipient of Assistance and other bodies involved. The main functions of the Team Leader will be as follows:

• To manage the project on a day-to-day basis, and to ensure that the project runs on time
• To direct and monitor the progress of the Works Contractor and report periodic progress for End Recipient of Assistance
• To manage the team of experts and resources
• To develop and maintain close links and excellent working relations with all the actors, bodies and Employer involved in the project

• Good Command of English + Full computer literacy
• Have an University Degree in Civil Engineering or in Architecture
• Experience in using computer aided design programmes (i.e. AutoCAD)
• Preferably 10 years but a minimum of 8 years of professional experience
• Preferably 5 years but a minimum of 3 years of working experience in the supervision of industrial buildings (on behalf of the Employer) as a team leader/project manager
• At least 1 year of experience as supervisor or team leader / project manager of contractor in a construction project implemented under FIDIC.
• Experience in FIDIC claim management is an asset.

Time Engagement: 280 Working Days distributed on an overall period of 27 months. Phases of Engagement:

• Phase 1 (construction period): full time: approx 13 months, 100% on site.
• Phase 2 (defect liability period): part time: 14 months – short missions on site.

Salary: to be defined according to the level of skills and experience. Salary to be paid in proportion to the exact number of working days certified on site. Accommodation on site and domestic flights reimbursed by the company.
