Job Description
Banquet Sales Manager Responsible for achieving hotel targets by optimising Banquet, Weddings and Catering revenues through an assigned account base, as well as prospecting new clients in assigned markets.
Key Responsibilities: To share key decision-making and policy-setting guidelines for the operation of Sales Department, Catering & Events division with Director of Sales & Marketing. To follow up on all procedures and plans agreed upon in a timely and through fashion. To assist with the preparation of the annual budget and the quarterly & monthly revenue forecasts especially utilizing knowledge of the history and positioning of competitive hotels and trends in the local Marketplace. To monitor all outstanding balances on all department accounts and to follow up with all professional sales team members in a timely fashion. To attend selected MICE & Wedding trade shows. To prepare a database from the realized events ad update the list on a regular basis. To prepare meetings with service partners minimum 4 times a year. To achieve her / his financial target within the given period. To prepare weekly sales reports and present to Director of Sales and Marketing. To monitor the sales team members’ goals and to report on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. To assist all subordinates with advice and guidance in all phases of the sales process. To advise on all food/beverage/rental/other pricing guidelines with suggestions for improving both the sales and service products. To focus all personal sales efforts on the crucially important Social Market of weddings, Outside Catering and other personal and family celebrations. To train, develop and coach subordinates. To network and allocate time for self-development in order to keep up to date with current and future trends.
Required Skills
EDUCATION: Bachelor Degree
EXPERIENCE: Minimum Four (4) years of Banquet Sales Manager experience in a 5 star luxury hotel.
LANGUAGE: Ability to work and communicate in a multinational environment: Local language – excellent oral and written skills English – excellent oral and written skills Additional language – beneficial
COMPETENCIES: To fill this position the candidate must have: Knowledge of hotel features, benefits, and competing hotels within the market Strong leadership and analytical skills Ability to quickly adapt to a constantly changing market with a revenue positive effect Be proactive in achieving Catering/Wedding Department revenue goals Relevant experience in Catering/Wedding management. Hotel Operations experience is a plus Analytical approach to problem solving and demonstrated ability to “think out-side of the box” Ability to execute appropriate action plans.
