Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Specialist

Job Description

Performing and leading a wide range of mechanical design and analysis tasks for marine applications (propellers, etc.) using CAD tools. The candidate will be involved in projects such as design and development of fixed and controllable pitch marine propeller systems and similar naval applications. The applications are for both commercial and naval platforms. Key responsibilities of this position include the following:

•Develop design concepts for products (propellers, etc),
•Perform modeling and detailed design using CAD tools such as Solidworks, select components and materials, develop detail drawings, Bill of Materials and documentation,
•Analyze design to meet requirements for functionality, performance, strength, fatigue failure, vibration, noise, safety, etc., using analysis and modeling tools (i.e. ANSYS) or work with the individuals as a part of the team for analyzing the developed models,
•Use CAD and other programs for drawing and modeling

Desired Skills & Experience
1.Bachelor's degree in naval architecture, mechanical, automotive or similar engineering disciplines. Advanced degree is a plus.
2.The candidate should have engineering modeling, design, and analysis experience using one or more of the following or similar CAD and analysis tools: Solidworks, AutoCAD, ANSYS, NASTRAN, etc. Experience in marine systems design is highly desirable but not required.
3.Knowledge and experience in shipbuilding industry (or in a similar industry) as well as four or more years of experience are highly desired.
4.The candidates must be creative with excellent communication skills and must have desire for the improvement of professional skills in a teamwork environment. The candidates hired for this position will be focused on translating the ideas into viable practical solutions; therefore, the person needs to be a strong team player.
Military Service Status
The male candidates who completed the military service obligation is preferred; however this requirement can be waived in special circumstances such as people not required to serve in the military for the upcoming 3 years.

MILPER is a young and energetic R&D company founded in Tuzla, Istanbul in 2011. MILPER focuses on the design and development of marine propeller and shaft pairs, including both Fixed- and Controllable-Pitch Propellers (FPPs and CPPs).
MILPER is the first company established in Turkey with the sole focus being the design and production of the CPPs. The near term goal of MILPER is to focus on the projects that has not been designed and developed in Turkey through an organized project management and well-established infrastructure. MILPER’s mid-term goal is to work on various R&D projects that meet the needs of Turkish defense and commercial shipbuilding industry.
