As Purchasing Manager, you will support the negotiation of contracts, purchasing of required goods, and record-keeping as it related to transactions and vendor performance. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Adhere to quality procedures and standards and oversee purchasing administration such that all Hilton policies and standards are upheld.
- Manage the database of active local contracts with suppliers
- Ensure Purchasing Manual is current
- Buy goods and material at the right price, in the required quality and volume and at the right time
- Order goods and material taking account of the economic situation of the hotel and on the basis of current events and occupation plans
- Use the hotel computer system as a rational organisational tool for managing and establishing orders, bookings, minimum inventories and inventories in stock.
- Administer serving equipment and consumables and use the hotel computer system for efficient keeping of inventories of these items
- Organise and regulate use of Team Members in the area of the store and ramp
- Give trainees a comprehensive insight into the purchasing system and organise a tour of the department during working hours

- Strong financial knowledge and ability to work with budgets
- Computer literate, with good MS Excel skills
- Good time management and organisation skills
- Previous experience within the hotel/leisure sector
- Previous experience in a similar purchasing role
- Relevant degree, in Finance/Accounting or related business discipline, from an academic institution
