- To ensure full knowledge of the role and responsibilities.
- To ensure that Mandarin Oriental Legendary Quality Experiences are fully implemented and maintained throughout the Housekeeping department.
- To ensure that Mandarin Oriental’s grooming and appearance standards are implemented and maintained to reflect an image of professionalism and care.
- To attend all meetings according to schedule and business requirements in the absence of the Laundry Manager
- To encourage efficient and effective inter-departmental communication in order to promote a climate of teamwork and enthusiasm.
· To monitor all aspects of the preventive planned maintenance system
- To participate and chair in the absence of the Laundry Manager departmental briefings and meetings to promote effective communication within the team.
- To identify departmental training needs and assist the Laundry Manager to schedule and provide training accordingly.
- To support the Laundry and Valet team in order to deliver the quality service standard to our guests.
- To report, control and follow up on any Engineering issues and planned preventative maintenance programme
- To be responsible for running the laundry and Valet operations in the absence the Laundry Manager.
- To ensure the Laundry team’s timekeeping, conduct and personal appearance adhere to Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group standards.
- To investigate and follow through any guest complaints, losses, damages pertaining to laundering services.
- To carry out and report accurately weekly linen stocktake in the absence of the Laundry Manager.
- To assist in implementing and maintaining the Safe & Sound procedures and standards in the Landry department and to ensure these standards are met on a daily basis.
- To train and guide new colleagues and ensuring training plans are met and communicated within the department.
- To be responsible for Valet departmental administration including Guest Glitch system, Moreton Bay Purchasing system, and Colleague Time In & Attendance, ensuring these are updated daily and communicated to the relevant departments.
- To provide timely and quality service to guests and residents and to ensure all queries are handled to achieve full satisfaction.
- To manage the hotel uniforms issuing process, ensuring continuity in appearance and grooming standards within hotel.
- To place the necessary purchase orders timely to maintain the par stock levels of uniforms and linen.
- To ensure the department and the storeroom are kept in a tidy and clean condition.
- To perform weekly stocktake of the laundry operating supplies and place weekly orders on timely manner.
- To ensure periodic inspection of all laundry equipment is undertaken and liaise with suppliers regarding maintenance and parts replacement.
- To perform all laundry and valet related duties including collecting, washing, pressing and delivering of guests/residents’ items; washing and pressing of colleague uniforms and shoe shine service for guests.
- To carry out regular feedback session, reviews of performances for colleagues and to ensure the goal setting for each colleague are communicated and followed throughout the year.
- To carry out any other reasonable requests as directed by the Laundry Manager and Executive Housekeeper.
